10 Minute Home Workout for Busy Mums

Following on from my last blog post 10 Tips for Busy Mums to Stay in Shape I decided to post an accompanying blog with quick ten minute workout that you can do at home that will stimulate your metabolism in a short space of time, no equipment and only a very small area of space needed.

Ready steady GO!

Get your leggings on, a bottle of water nearby and a timer set for 10 minutes, we are going to do something called a 10 minute AMRAP which means in 10 minutes you are going to complete As Many Rounds As Possible of the following circuit.

The great thing about this style of circuit is that it keeps you moving pretty much non stop for 10 minutes, keeping your heart rate elevated for that amount of time is going to stimulate your metabolism nicely in a short space of time.

You can rest as much or as little as you like, the idea is that the next time you do the workout your target is to beat your previous score.

Here we go…1…2…3….GOOOOOOO

1. Bodyweight Squats X 20

2. Plank Pressups X 20

3. Pulsing Crunches X 20

4. Mountain Climbers X 20

5. Skaters X 20

Note: If you haven’t exercised for a while then please please take this slowly to begin with certainly for the first workout, so you can get a feel for the exercises, the movements and to allow your body to adapt, you’ll have plenty of time to beat your time in the proceeding workouts.
