Charge yourself up this winter before working out. I don’t know about you but come 3pm at the moment this time of year all I want to do is go home and sleep rather than workout, but help is at hand.
There’s a handy way of charging yourself up before a workout by performing 3 plyometric exercises back to back with enough rest in between so that you’re not out of breathe, with minimal reps approx 3.
The key is to perform each rep as explosive as possible and to measure your progress with each round from the 3 broad jumps.
You should find that with each round you will jump further with your 3 reps/jumps, once you stop progressing then that’s the time to stop and start training, as you want to be peaking at that point, I find usually 3-4 rounds does it.
This is a simple Neural Charge Warmup:
- 3 x Box Jumps
- 3 x Medball Slams (like Thor)
- 3 x Broad Jumps (measure distance travelled and compare with next round)
