Energy is fast becoming a very overused buzz word and you may get a different answer from 10 different people.
There is obviously energy that we are aware of in our ‘physical’ bodies, the energy created and used by our body for muscle contraction and force exertion is known as ATP or Adenosine Triphosphate.
Then there is the energetic flow around us and through our ‘etheric’ bodies, it interacts with others energy fields and the environment.
Energy comes into and out of the body through the chakras. The energy leaving our body is affected by our own substance and mixes with the energy of others around us. They in turn affect this energy with their own substance, and so on and so forth. Through this we can better understand how we influence one another and how we all are connected energetically.
The Etheric Body is the subtle level of the Physical Body. It is composed of various energies such as electromagnetic, chi, prana, ki, vitality, etc.
There are seven major energy centers, called chakras, that are connected to the endocrine glands and process seven main types of consciousness. There are 21 minor energy centers and many smaller energy centers.
We can see from the image above the relevance each of the 7 different chakras has to our own energetic or ‘etheric’ body and how if one is blocked how it maybe effecting you on an emotional, mental, physical or spiritual level, this is where Reiki and other forms of energy healing can be used to clear those chakras or energy points, allowing the energy to ‘flow’ through you without obstruction.
