With all the events going on in the world in 2016, such as the war in Syria, the continued danger of ISIS, Brexit and now the US Election result providing more unseen upsets and the increasing feeling of an uncertain future.

Does it give you the overwhelming feeling that there is so much to fix in the world, which leaves you to ask the question “how can I make any kind of difference to bring about positive change on such a huge scale?”

Well I’m here to tell you that you are more in control of your life and the destiny of the planet than you think.

Be The Change

It all made sense to me hearing Ghandi’s famous saying ‘Be the change that you wish to see in the world’ a couple of years ago, which led me into thinking “what can I do on a daily basis that could have a huge impact on the world around me without much disruption to my life?”

I had the above tattoo done to remind me that change big or small always starts with one person, one thought, one mind and one action, if that thought or action is profound enough that other people recognise the benefits of making that change, they too will adopt that behaviour and so it begins.

We know that animal agriculture is affecting our planet, our health, the wellbeing of farmed and wild animals alike and it is the one thing that we make multiple choices on each day.

Food Choices

We make at least 3 food choices a day, that’s over 1,000 food choices that we all make each year, that means that 1,000,000 people make 1 Billion food choices per year , imagine the impact on our environment and other beings we can make by coming together and making an additional Billion food choices and how much positive change that could bring about in our world?

So if you’re feeling disempowered by the state of our world and the actions of others, know that you have the power, each and every day to make a difference by making the right choices every time you sit down to a meal and put food in your mouth.

I’m reminded of that great quote from Gladiator the movie…

“What we do in life echoes in eternity”

Start changing your reality and start eating a diet that is based on plants not animals and be the change you wish to see in the world.
