So you’ve been doing a particular Training Program now for a few months but that once really successful training program is no longer making any difference to your body shape or fitness levels, what went wrong?!
It’s really simple, changing your body composition and fitness level is no different to achieving any goals in life, business or relationships.

Or as the saying goes “nothing grows inside the comfort zone!”
Your body is this super-duper efficient machine that is built to use the minimum amount of energy in order to survive and is governed by the law of adaptation.
In order to grow stronger, faster, leaner or more muscular we must always be looking to alter the way we are stimulating the body or the resistance we are putting it under so that it has something to adapt to or grow into, be that more reps, less rest, heavier weights, longer distances, shorter time periods etc
If we don’t give the body something to adapt to, then it won’t it’s that simple.
This is where having a great training program comes in, that has something called ‘Progressive Overload’ built into the training cycles, pushing you that little bit further as your body adapts.

I’ve been putting myself through different training programs for 20 years now and clients for over 11 years, I’m not going to lie I’m a bit of a geek when it comes to creating training programs and even after all that time, I love it.
I think it has something to do with having a ‘solutions’ focussed mindset. I love it when a new client comes along with a whole new set of lifestyle variables that challenges me to design a training program solution to suit their lifestyle, to meet their needs, to achieve their goals, whilst using all the tools and experience I have collected over the years.
It becomes quite an instinctive process as you can imagine, but I will go into some more of the ‘how’ in future newsletters so that you can start to look at designing your own basic programs in the future.
This is one of the reasons why I have decided to relaunch my Basic Online Coaching package, as it focuses mainly on program design for clients (which I love!) and reduces the support/coaching time that some clients don’t need and it’s therefore cheaper! (which clients love!)
